Several columns in print template legend?

If many layers are turned on, one column in the legend may not be enough and the legend becomes very tall - could you add the possibility to make the legend span several columns (also, for some paper sizes/templates a wider and less tall legend with several columns looks better)?

    Yes! I agree, especially when you have a horizontal section to be filled by the legend instead of a vertical panel. I did mention this to Patrick at the San Diego User Conference. I was hoping it would get implemented in 5.1
